We’ve been friends with Dasha so many years. She’s always have been like she is now - beautiful, kind, responsive, genuine. Always accepted herself and her body. And I thought… that I know everything about her. But I asked even her to fill the questionary before the photoshoot, and after I’ve read it I straightaway asked her, if she’s ready to open up fully. And she agreed.
On the photoshoot I asked her a question, first time in 17 years I asked her about it.
⁃ Dasha, have people ever mocked you?
⁃ Yes sure. In school.
- And how did you reacted on it?
⁃ Well, I couldn’t understand that. I was growing up without any thought that I’m different from the others. In primary school I was studying in Vilnius, no one was telling me anything. And in Moscow school kids were more mean. They were trying to offend me and made up a nickname “grizzly”. And I couldn’t understand why this should be offensive. Cuz “grizzly” its a bear, and why being a baby bear should be offensive?
⁃ And what were you doing?
⁃ Nothing, just in some time I teached them to love me.
